Planning permission extension sought on Main Street development

The relevant properties at the time of the original application in 2007.
An application for an extension of duration of planning permission has been lodged in respect of a Main Street development first proposed in 2007, writes Brian Byrne.

The application, by Mark Dyer and Drinda Jones, relates to a 2-acre riverside site and two former private residences, Liffey Bank House and Liffey View House.

The development as granted in April 2008 was for a mixed use scheme comprising retail, residential, commercial, cafe/restaurant, associated facilities and publicly accessible landscaped areas.

The original permission granted to Arquette Limited on the property, then owned by Sir Anthony O'Reilly of Castlemartin, was granted an extension of duration in 2013, again under the application of Arquette Limited.

Around that time the property, which had become derelict, had been externally refurbished as part of a KCA-promoted visual improvement scheme.

The latest application for extension of the permission was lodged on 12 March 2018 with Kildare County Council. Any submissions on the application, file number 18260, must be lodged by 15 April 2018.
